Office of Community Arts Partnership at Columbia College, Chicago, IL,
Arts Integration Specialist
Working as a liaison between the college and Chicago Public Schools. I am focusing on the needs
of teaching artists (mostly CCC faculty), and CPS teachers and administrators. Creating a strong
working relationship with each group, while integrating and implementing the arts into their
curriculums to meet the specific needs in each classroom and/or administration (most commonly;
literacy). I am the Curriculum Coordinator and media specialist (documentation) for Project AIM.
I also work to provide Arts-Integration Instruction for “Saturday Scholars” and was the Head
Curriculum Writer for “Dance Africa” for several years, which I followed-up with a corresponding
teacher training session.
2004-2002
South Shore Small School of the Arts, Chicago, IL
Created and implemented an art course to support an Afrocentric curriculum with
interdisciplinary integrated units in a teacher led, student centered Chicago Public
school with support from the Gates Foundation. Also worked with Gallery 37 as a
program liaison, led an art critics club, worked as an instructor for the Academic Decathlon,
and enlisted students to join artist Dawoud Bey in creating and publishing, "The Chicago
Project", in conjunction with the Alfred Smart Museum at the University of Chicago.
2001
South Shore High School, Chicago, IL
Created and implemented art foundation courses. Co-instructor for Academic Decathlon,
students created set backdrops that traveled the nation for an alumni's production,"Big Time",
and served on the reading committee.

Created original displays of both hard and soft-line merchandise. Purchased and arranged
weekly floral arrangements for the store. Aided in organizing special events rearranging from
fashion shows to benefits and our In-Circle parties. Consulted with vendors to organize
shipments and point-of-sale priorities. I was recognized twice with a Neiman Marcus' Award
of Excellence. Main areas of specialty are hard-line home decor, cosmetics and windows.

combining art, reading, and writing to increase school test scores.
